Disability Royal Commission

Advocacy Support

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (Disability Abuse Royal Commission) has commenced and they want to hear from all Australians about their experiences of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability.

They want to make it as easy as possible for people with disability to participate in this Royal Commission are now accepting submissions.  They are committed to making accessible and appropriate arrangements for people with disability, their families, carers and others, to engage with them to provide evidence and share information about their experiences.

The Department of Social Services are funding several National Disability Advocacy Program funded organisations to provide Advocacy Support Services to:

  • Provide information about the Royal Commission and to help people understand the purpose of the Royal Commission
  • Support those who want to participate through the whole process
  • Protect the rights of people and help them say what they want to say and how they want to say it
  • Provide advice and referrals and act in their best interest
  • Assist people to get the supports needed including counselling and/or psychological support

This service is available to all those living within our service region (see our Service Region page).

If you are considering making a submission or just want some advice, please contact us.
